Goocoo Group Arranges Robot R&D and Manufacturing Industry Jointly with USTC and High-tech Zone

On the afternoon of September 9, Anhui Goocoo Investment Group, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Managing Committee of Hefei High-tech Zone jointly executed the strategic cooperation agreement for development of robot industry in Hefei. Wu Cunrong, Secretary of Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee and Hefei Municipal Committee of CPC, Li Weihua, Vice Chairman of Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Hou Jianguo, Principal of the USTC and Yuan Qihong, Chairman of Goocoo Group etc. attended the signing ceremony.

In the signing ceremony, Goocoo Group signed three agreements i.e.  the USTC – Goocoo Cooperation Agreement of Combined Robot Research Center, the Framework Agreement for Strategic Cooperation of Hefei Robot Industrial Park Project and the Framework Agreement for Development Fund Cooperation of Hefei Robot Industry with the USTC and the Managing Committee of Hefei High-tech Zone. In the future, Goocoo Group will join hands with USTC and Hefei High-tech Zone to set development funds for robot industry, establish combined research center of robots, jointly build up Hefei robot industrial park and create the incubation platform of robot industry. It is another significant strategic layout of transformation and innovative development of Goocoo Group after its investment in animation culture industry and entering into the financial service industry.

Yuan Qihong, Chairman of Goocoo Group said that, high-tech sectors are always the direction of development that Goocoo Group pays attention to. Facilitating the robot industry together with USTC and Hefei High-tech Zone complies with industrial policies of governments at all levels, conforms to market demands, enjoys good timing, geographical convenience and good human relations, and its prospects are really bright. It is believed that Hefei robot industrial park will surely become a shining star and turn into a new highland of Hefei high-tech manufacturing industry with the technological support from USTC, the policy support from Hefei High-tech Zone and the recognition and caring of provincial and municipal leaders.

It reported that robot industry is a mainstay industry whose development is encouraged by both Anhui Province and Hefei. USTC possesses world leading service robot technologies and in this July, the “Kejia” intelligent service robot independently developed by it won the service robot competition for the first time, which can read instruction manuals of electrical appliance and is able to carry out simple logical reasoning and serve drinks, which marks the historical breakthrough of China in service robot research and development. Hefei High-tech Zone is the core area of comprehensive pilot zone independently innovated by Hefei, Wuhu and Bengbu with outstanding innovative environment. Powerful combination with two parties this time will expand the proportion of investment in high-tech industries in businesses of Goocoo Group, thus effectively facilitate the transformation and development of the Group.
