“USTC – Goocoo Robot Research Center” Officially Launches to Open the New Era of Goocoo Robot Business Development

    On December 29, 2014, the opening ceremony for “USTC – Goocoo Robot Research Center” was grandly held in the Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, marking the formal start of robot industry R&D platform jointly built by the USTC, Hefei High-tech Zone and Goocoo Group and opening the new era of Goocoo Group (largest private enterprise in Anhui Province) robot business development.
    On September 9, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei High-tech Zone and the Goocoo Group signed a framework agreement for strategic cooperation regarding development of robot industry in Hefei. Three parties plan to jointly set the development fund for robot industry, establish the combined robot research center, jointly construct Hefei Robot Industrial Park and create the robot industry incubation platform. Relevant leaders from Provincial Party Committee and Hou Jianguo, Principal of the USTC attended the signing ceremony. After over three months’ researches and preparations, substantive operation of the USTC – Goocoo Robot Research Center has been formally started. The parties will try their best to fully combine production, education, research and government, in which the USTC, led by the team of Professor Chen Xiaoping, will offer abundant scientific research strength and talents from the USTC and the Institute of Advanced Technology, the High-tech Zone will provide excellent policy support and service guarantee, while Goocoo Group will input the most excellent manpower, material resources and financial resources.
    Robot industry is also a pillar industry whose development is encouraged by both Anhui Province and Hefei. USTC possesses world leading service robot technologies and the “Kejia” intelligent service robot independently developed by it won the service robot competition for the first time in the 18th Robcup held in Brazil this year, marking the historical breakthrough of China in service robot research and development.
    As a comprehensive international large enterprise and group and the first private enterprise in Anhui in 2014, Goocoo Group, during construction of "An Innovative Lake City", is more desperate to grasp the opportunities and seize current commanding highland for robot industry development so as to realize corner overtaking of intelligent robot business development in China. The largest robot-themed restaurant in China invested by Goocoo was formally opened in Hefei on December 26, the Anhui Goocoo Robot Industry Holdings Co., Ltd with the registered capital of RMB 1 billion has been established, and Hefei Robot Industry Fund is planning to raise RMB 0.3 billion in the first phase under the full support of Hefei Municipal Government and things are going in good order. In the near future, Goocoo will continue to apply for the authorization of “global sponsor” for RoboCup so as to put Hefei robots to the world; it will also be involved in preparations of Hefei robot industry alliance by inclusiveness and open cooperation, in order to jointly promote the industrial development; guided by industrialization of “Kejia”, three robot beauty shop assistants will be pushed to eyes of Hefei citizens during the Spring Festival, in order to bring refreshing scientific & technological shopping experience...
    Represented by intelligent robots, the strategic emerging industries belong to knowledge- and capital-intensive industries and are the major development direction in China.
