The Largest Commercial Single-Unit Distributed Power Station on Roof in China Connected to Grid in Hefei City

    The grid-connection ceremony of Trina Solar 30MW Distributed Power Station on Roof (the Largest Commercial Single-Unit Distributed Power Station on Roof in China) was held in Xinzhan District, Hefei City on Dec. 25.

    Gao Jifan (President of China Photovoltaic Industry Association, and Chairman of Trina Solar Limited Company) introduced that the total capacity of power station project for this grid-connection was 30MW, and that this power station was the Largest Commercial Single-Unit Distributed Power Station on Roof in China, with total investment of RMB￥240,000,000. According to his introduction, about 110,000 pieces of photovoltaic modules were paved on roof of more than 300 buildings in Jingshang Trade and Business City, Xinzhan District, Hefei City, with roof area of 450,000 m²; it was estimated that the accumulative total quantity of electricity generated by this project in a year would be about 32,080,000 kwh, that about 12,000 tons of standard coal would be saved, and that the emission of about 32,000 tons of CO₂ would be reduced.

    Furthermore, the Photovoltaic Module Project whose construction was funded by Trina Solar was also put into production on the same day. Fully automatic assembly line was adopted by this project; production capacity of 600MW solar modules would be formed after completion, and annual sales revenue of RMB￥2,000,000,000 would be realized.

    According to introduction, in recent years, Hefei City put forward the target of creating “The First City in Photovoltaic   Application of China”; on one hand, it focused on industrial agglomeration, on the other hand, it emphasized application promotion; thus its photovoltaic industry rose rapidly and reached domestic leading level. On basis of a batch of major projects such as Hareon PV Cells and IRICO PV glass, Xinzhan District, Hefei City gave play to carrier advantage of industrial cluster, facilitated the cooperation of Trina Solar with Goocoo Group and IRICO Group, and established the sustainable development mode of “Stimulating Investment to Production Projects, Boosting Resource Complementarity between Enterprises and Unifying Energetic Enterprises with PV Product Application”.
