Up to early May, Hefei has a total grid-connected PV generating capacity of 893 megawatts, topping the list in provincial capitals of China. And its annual energy output is expected to be more than 900 million kwh.

Hefei is one of the first demonstration cities of new energy. Due to abundant solar energy resources, annual average sunshine time of 2,100 hours and sufficient solar-thermal resources, Hefei is suitable to build the large photovoltaic power generation project.

Since June 2013 when Hefei Municipal Government issued Opinions on the Implementation of Speeding up the Photovoltaic Application and Promoting the Development of Photovoltaic Industry, relying on dual support of industrial development and application, the photovoltaic industry in Hefei region has developed from scratch, and it just took a few years for Hefei to become “the first photovoltaic city” of China.

Guided by positive policies, excellent photovoltaic manufacturers and operators choose Hefei to set their bases.

Not long ago, the largest power station by means of photovoltaic array in the fishpond in east China--- 100-megawatt Feidong Xianhupo photovoltaic power station, the largest roof-mounted photovoltaic power station---Jingshang Trade City and other large projects are connected to the grid. Two “Hefei modes” of innovative development, namely, “Poverty alleviation by means of photovoltaic generation” and “Building beautiful village collectivity by means of photovoltaic generation”, are popularized nationwide. So far, individual poverty alleviation by means of photovoltaic generation is involved in 565 households, amounting to 3.99 megawatts. This year, the implementation covers more than 1,000 households as planned.

Besides, photovoltaic power generation is constantly used by ordinary families. At present, generation more than 1500 households has participated in the project of household photovoltaic power in Hefei. After electric energy from photovoltaic power station can meet family demands, excessive electric energy will be connected to and sold to the grid. In Hefei, government subsidies per kilowatt-hour are provided, and individual electricity charge can be paid to the power supply company every six months. It is expected that users will continue to grow this year.

Since 2016, photovoltaic development in Hefei fully speeds up. The distributed photovoltaic power station is connected to the grid of 1,158 households in the first quarter, with a generating capacity of 51 megawatts. At present, the total number of users is 2,813 households in the region, and the total generating capacity is 233 megawatts. In the first quarter, 12 large photovoltaic power stations with a capacity of 20 megawatts or more are directly connected to the grid, equal to the total grid-connected quantity of 25 in 2015, with a total capacity of 660 megawatts. The total grid-connected photovoltaic capacity in Hefei region is 893 megawatts, and annual energy output is expected to be more than 900 million kwh. 

     icipal Burea of Land and Resources, Goocoo Group invested about RMB 1 million yuan in building a 2km cement road for Kongjiadawa villagers, connected to Wanshan-Ketan Road, directly leading to natural villages in the valley. After half-a-month construction, the newly-built road was completed yesterday morning.
